Meet Shireen

Shireen Oberman is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice here in Los Angeles.

Shireen completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and French, with honors, from the University of Southern California. Following her graduation, she was granted a one- year assistantship to study at Paris IV – La Sorbonne in Paris, where she pursued French Literature. Shireen received her double masters degree in Social Work and Jewish Communal Services from the University of Southern California and Hebrew Union College. Following the completion of her degrees, she received a two-year post-graduate fellowship at Cedar Sinai’s Department of Mental Health and Psychiatry.

Since 2002, Shireen has had a wide breath of clinical experience working in diverse settings such as domestic violence clinics, hospital inpatient and outpatient settings, non-profit agencies, and private practice. Shireen has worked with a variety of clientele dealing with issues from depression, anxiety, domestic violence, substance abuse, personality disorders, and severe, persistent mental illness.

Currently, Shireen is a PsyD Candidate at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Pschoanalytic Studies.
